Mountaineering in Wrangell-St. Elias Natl. Park

Wrangell-St. Elias Natl. Park

April - June

Towering ice-clad volcanoes form the backbone of our Country's largest piece of wilderness, the 20,000 square mile Wrangell-St. Elias National Park. In a place with more vertical relief than anywhere in the world, and altogether bigger than the country of Switzerland, there is no shortage of potential for the alpine climber. Along with high elevation objectives like the classic NW Ridge of Blackburn, there is a plethora of big objectives in the mountain kingdom of Alaska!

The national park service has a great page on mountaineering in Wrangell-St. Elias, be sure to give it a read https://www.nps.gov/wrst/planyourvisit/mountaineering.htm.
